We are excited to announce some important upcoming payroll changes for Gordon County employees. Today’s environment of recruitment and retention is highly competitive and often challenging for governments to meet pay scales offered by larger areas or the private sector. Effective the new year payroll, Gordon County is establishing a minimum starting rate of $15.00 hourly for all new hire offers for general position employment opportunities. Any current employee below that hourly rate will be moved to the minimum. Gordon County is also establishing a minimum starting rate of $16.00 hourly for all new hire offers for public safety position employment opportunities. Any current public safety employee below that hourly rate will be moved to the minimum. We are also very pleased to express appreciation to all current employees for the excellent job they do in serving the public. All employees will receive a $1.00 hourly increase.
Even with a roll back of the mileage rate to the lowest rate since 2010, we are able to offer these changes due to the excellent work done by all to be fiscally responsible for taxpayer dollars.
